A major name recently inked a new deal with AEW. There was massive hype among the fans about this new All Elite Wrestling addition. Now, some new details have been revealed about her contract, that suggested that she snubbed WWE to join All Elite Wrestling.
24-year-old star Persephone has joined AEW as the newest member of the roster. She has been a rising name in CMLL over the past few years. She has also competed on various Ring of Honor shows as well. Considering her wrestling skills at such a young age, many wrestling promotions were interested in signing her, including WWE.
According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE was interested in Persephone since her match at Forbidden Door 2025. At the O2 Arena in London, the 24-year-old battled in a four-way match with Mercedes Mone, Alex Windsor, and Bozilla for the TBS Championship. But despite WWE’s interest, the CMLL star chose to sign with All Elite Wrestling.
Besides, this deal helps her stay with CMLL as well as with All Elite Wrestling moving forward. With that said, it will be interesting to see how things will unfold for the 24-year-old from here on when she makes her official AEW debut.
Tony Khan reacts to Persephone’s entry to AEW
Tony Khan has hired professional wrestlers from all across the world to work with All Elite Wrestling. The addition of Persephone is a major win for the Jacksonville-based promotion due to her raw talent in the squared circle. Following her entry to the company, Khan reacted with a solid message.
Taking to X, Tony called the 24-year-old a top star in professional wrestling. He highlighted the key detail that Persephone has signed a dual contract in the same post.
“She’s a top star in @CMLL_OFICIAL , and now with her dual contract, she’s officially All Elite! Welcome to @AEW , Persephone,” wrote Khan.
Nonetheless, with this message, it can be assumed that Tony Khan has some major plans for the talent in All Elite Wrestling. It will be keen to see when she will make her first appearance in the promotion as ‘All Elite’.
